Driver Casey Buckman Promoting Arizona’s Anti-Bullying Initiative During Biggest Week in Racing
INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – An Arizona racecar driver will get the chance of a lifetime when he races in the Hoosier 100, one of the premier events leading up to the 2019 Indianapolis 500, and he’s using the opportunity to call attention to a great cause: Arizona’s own “Live Like Lexi” charity.

Arizona native and Grand Canyon University graduate Casey Buckman got the invite last week to participate in the Hoosier 100, which is part of the USAC Silver Crown Race series and slated for Thursday, May 23, leaving he and his team little time to prepare for the big event. Recognizing just how much of a platform he’d have during this national event, though, Buckman chose to put the wheels in motion for something he’d long wanted to do: team up with the local Live Like Lexi foundation and help spread its anti-bullying message.
Named for Alexis “Lexi” Schultz, who was known for always having a kind word for her peers before she passed away unexpectedly in 2015, one week before her 14th birthday, the Live Like Lexi charity looks to educate youths about the dangers of bullying while teaching them to treat others with kindness and respect.

“When we got the call last week confirming we were a go for the Hoosier 100 and Silver Crown Racing this season, the entire team just started running a hundred miles an hour to get everything put together,” Buckman said. ““It inspired us to bring something to life that our team has been talking about all year – to use our racing as a tool, not only to create multiple media platforms, but to be able to give a much louder voice to the Arizona-based Live Like Lexi Foundation.”
To show their support for the organization, C-Buck Motorsports is incorporating the Live Like Lexi logo, branding and imagery into its team race cars, uniforms and other collateral this racing season, hoping that, by doing so, they can reach even more people with Lexi’s message of kindness and acceptance.

Spectators will get a glimpse of the decked-out racecar when the 64th annual Hoosier 100 rolls into the Indiana State Fairgrounds May 23, marking the final time the historic race will take place at this location.
